Hello my loves,
I hope you’re all well and starting to get in the Christmas spirit! It’s taken me far too long to get around to doing this post, mainly because November is a month of hell in terms of University deadlines, but also because I wanted to put it up at the right time and once I’d used some of the products so I could give a proper review.
I thought I’d come on here and tell you about an amazing experience I was lucky enough to be a part of. Now you all have probably heard of Zoe Sugg a.k.a Zoella (and if you haven’t, do you live under a rock?) She has her own beauty and lifestyle ranges as you may already know, and recently she brought out her new range Winter Wonderland for both lifestyle and beauty. I was lucky enough to win a competition on her Zoella Beauty Instagram to attend the preview of all of these products in a quite literal winter wonderland.
Despite some of her products being under some scrutiny at the moment, I had a really lovely time trying out her new range and enjoying the experience as a whole! So here is my experience of the day as well as my thoughts on some of the products that I got to take home with me.
My boyfriend Jack (yes I dragged him along with me) and I arrived at the venue in London. My first word when I walked up the stairs was ‘Wow’. It was quite possibly the most aesthetically pleasing, festive thing I have ever seen (and being a Christmas lover, I have seen a lot of festive things in my time). There was fake snow everywhere, Christmas music playing, the smell of clementine, hot chocolate and clove filled the room and I was instantly in Winter heaven. Bearing in mind this was at the beginning of September, I wasn’t complaining about the festive feels 3 months early!
If you’re a fan of Zoella as I am, then I’m sure you can imagine the excitement of knowing I was walking around in the same room she had been in with the likes of Alfie Deyes (PointlessBlog), Mark Ferris, Poppy Deyes and Sean O’Connor just a few days prior! I made sure to take pictures of literally everything, and I got the chance to try out some of her products too which was so cool. I received a hand massage using her Winter Wonder Hand cream, had the most calorific but yummy hot chocolates in her ‘Cosy Vibes’ mug and got to investigate her new range!
Here is a selection of pictures (you can click on them to enlarge them):
I was lucky enough to receive a goody bag at the end of the experience which had a few of her new products in it that hadn’t yet been released in stores (this was back in September, they are all in stores now). The products that I received in this goody bag were:
The ‘Cosy Vibes’ Mug –
Love, love, love this product! Probably my favourite piece from her winter lifestyle range. For anyone that doesn’t know me, I am OBSESSED with hot drinks: tea, coffee, hot chocolate, chai latte, herbal tea…you name it I probably drink it. This mug is a really great size for the perfect cup of any of the above. It’s not too big that you’ll never get through the drink before it gets cold, and its not too small that its gone in 3 sips. My perfect size! It has a nice sized handle as well so it is easy to hold and carry upstairs without spilling it all over the place (unless you’re clumsy like I am and spill it anyway). As well as the practicality, its also really cute. I love the gold writing that says ‘Cosy Vibes’ because isn’t that what this time of year is all about? It is for me anyway! It looks lovely contrasted against the white background with black spots, and the green inside is a really nice festive pop of colour! I don’t know how much more I can say about a mug…but I can say that I love it! It’s a great little present to get yourself, or for a friend, especially if they love hot drinks like I do! You can get it from Boots for £8.50.
Snow’ella Body Mist –
I’m a sucker for a good body mist. They’re so easy to chuck in your hand bag and spritz yourself with when you’re out and about! The same can be said for this one. I love the smell, its quite sweet with a bit of a citrus scent to it which I’m all for because citrus smells are my favourite. The bottle itself is a great size at 100ml, perfect for chucking in your bag or leaving on your vanity as it does look very pretty and I know it will last me a while! It has pretty rose gold writing, similar to the cosy vibes mug, and cute little fir tree patterns dotted all over the front which is really sweet. I love the play on words with the name, it’s very catchy. To top it off (quite literally) next to the pump there is a little white pom pom that makes it ever so cute and festive, but if you’re not a sucker for this time of year like me then you can remove it. If you want to get it yourself or for a friend for Christmas then you can get it from Superdrug, it’s usually £12.00 but is on offer for £10.00 at the moment!
Winter Wonder Hand Hand Cream –
I think this play on words is fab. I also think the same of the hand cream. It has the same sweet, citrus smell as the snow’ella body mist and it just gives your hands the perfect amount of moisture without them feeling sticky. It soaks in really nicely and the scent lasts for AGES. It’s a really nice sized bottle (90ml) that I know will last me a while, even though I slather hand cream on religiously (I may as well bath in it). You can also get this as a nice gift for yourself, or it would be great as a stocking filler! You can get it from Superdrug, it’s usually £6.00 but is on offer for £5.00 at the moment!
Bento Stationary Set –
Now, I’m going to be honest and say that I haven’t actually used this. But that’s because I do all of my university work on my laptop. If I was still at school/sixth form then I think this would have been more suitable for me! It is a very cute set including a ruler, rubber, 2 pencils, note pad, washi tape, pencil sharpener and these cute arrow paper clips. You do get a few different items in here which are all practical and have lovely designs on them. However, for £12.50 I do think it is a tad overpriced. If you are a Zoella fan and think you will get a lot of use out of it, then by all means buy it! Personally though, if I hadn’t’t have been given it then I wouldn’t necessarily have purchased it myself because I don’t get much use out of it. You can get it from Boots for £12.50.
I also received a signed tote bag which is really handy for me carrying my uni stuff around! I don’t think this is available in shops, but it was really cool to receive, and its signed by Zoe herself!
I hope you enjoyed this experience/review of products post! It was a really cool and exciting experience for me, and it’s something I will never forget. I hope the reviews of the products will be helpful!
I hope you have a lovely week, let me know what you think by liking/commenting/following my blog!
Love, Holly x
